Just so you don't think your hen is totally bad. If you give them a larger nesting box they will move their eggs all around in it. If your nest box is smaller they will keep them in a smaller area. But they naturally want to move the eggs, to turn them and get comfy. I have read that they will move eggs from the center out and the outer edges in to rotate warmth. My broody silkie did this multiple times a day. I would come home and she would be in a totally different place. Totally normal! Oh, and her eggs hatched too.My broody moved her nest today. She's usually on the left side of the wide nest box, today she's all moved over to the right side. Weirdo. I'm sure glad she doesn't have real eggs! Hoping she won't kill the chicks by leaving them alone, she sucks at keeping the eggs fully under her LOL
They look so funny, i want one. But at the same time I am worried if i got a female that i wouldn't be able to tell it's egg from my muscovy eggs. And i want to hatch some pure muscovies this year to try to sell some babies cheap. There just MIGHT be a reason they are called RUNNER duckscause their too uhm silly to fly.![]()
