I had terrible luck with the 2 BCMs I got last summer!!! One had the color on his body so he was obvious, but the other one barely had any color on the head and turned out to be a melanized (correct term?) rooster!!!! My Welsummer also turned out to be a roo, so no dark eggs for me

Bummer.
I have been working on them for years.
I finally got a real good batch going.
Keep tryng, it will happen, eventually.

Rhodie, Caunnie, and Drama ran off to their coop squawking up a storm when the chicks came out. It was funny. Blackie and Latte don't seem to mind them.

In concerned about Hope. She's not sick or anything anymore- But I'm worried her growth is stunted. I have not seen any significant progress in growth. It's like she's still 5 days old. The other chicks have started to enter their "awkward teenager stage" and she hasn't. Will post pics later.

This is for those bla days or for those "me times" that we all need.

Take one pkg of "SWISS MISS" cocoa mix. Put in coffee cup. Add fresh hot coffee and stir.
Drink. Enjoy. Caution, it is addictive, but oh so good. Guarantee it will pick you up and only 60 Cal.

I couldn't resist. I turned on the Keurig (I do one cup at a time) and added some of the cocoa mix my sister-in-law made. YUM! I think I'll add some to my afternoon cup every day. Thanks!

I had a chick like that once, it was too weird! But she wasn't sick ever, just crazy stunted. When all her sisters were 4 weeks old she resembled a 10 day old chick. I sold her with the understanding she might have a problem, buyer disn't care!

Hi all! Haven't been on here in ages! Hope all is well with everyone and their birdies and welcome to all the new folks!

Been busy sewing and doing a couple of projects around the house since the holidays, and I've been fighting a nasty head cold this last week.

Looking forward to Friday when we are supposed to get some SUN!!!! Can't wait to get outside!

Starting my list for sales of hatching eggs/chicks for this spring if anyone is interested, please PM me.

I have Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, Splash Marans, Olive Eggers and Easter Eggers, bantam cochins (blue, black and will be hatching out black split for lavender), and possibly some bantam Salmon Faverolle's and Serama's, but wanting to build up both of my flock some before I will have any of those two breeds available.

I am desperately looking for preferably a blue Ameraucana rooster/cockerel for my flock of blue/black girls. I know Eliz and MonicaS are both looking for roo's too. If anybody has some, or even hatching eggs at this point, I'd love to hear from you!

Also looking for Crele or Spangled Old English Game bantams.
