Firewife... do you and your kids want to ride along with me? I could tempt you with a shopping trip at the Centralia Outlet Mall.

Which IKEA are you guys meeting at on Saturday at 11:00? The one in N. Kent/S. Renton?

Who knows... maybe that's the only IKEA in WA. I dunno. But thought I'd better ask.

If my kid chooses to do an embryology science project... does anyone have 12 fertilized eggs they'd like incubated and will you take the newborn chicks off our hands within a day or two of hatch? We can't have and don't want any more chicks than we already have. His project is due March 8, which means we'd need to get going on this in early Feb since it takes 21 days to hatch.

We have two small incubators and can run a science project titled "Will rotating eggs have an effect on hatch rate"? Since half of the eggs will not be rotated, we wouldn't want to use expensive breeds. But, we would want something that someone wants chicks of.

Anyone?

I might be able to take those chicks off your hands. I am nnot sure how I am going to start my first flock, science project eggs sound like a winner-winner-chicken-dinner! So long as they aren't too far out of the way (I am happy to pick-up between Tacoma-South Renton). Of couse my dream is to have an entire flock of exotic birdies and a mottled cochin, but whoa is me, for I cannot afford shipping charges until Uncle Sam gives me back my dang-gum money....

My poor chickens miss me. I neglect them all winter. I just went out to spend some time in the run with them and they were ALL.OVER me! Super cute...except for Pip. She's a brat and bites my legs. I don't know what her problem is but she's likely the first chicken to go if I need to get rid of any ever. She won't let me hold or pet her no matter what, she hates physical contact, yet she is sneaky and always comes up behind me when I'm busy and bites my legs through my pants, or if I'm bending down she bites my back between my pants and shirt. WTH? It's driving me crazy. She's the worst and I don't know what to do about her. But I have tiny bruises on my legs from her and it's really obnoxious. Anybody want a Welsummer? :gig

Hey, not sure if your really wanting to rehome her, but just so you and everyone knows I don't insist that my chickens like to be held or that they have perfect manners. And I always have room.

Like I have said before my eggs are free ( to BYCers only) for hatching or eating lol. Just let me know in advance to collect and keep out of fridge. Also for your project, yes I could take the chicks after hatch. Just let my know.

Oh yeah, they would be mutts. Roos are a RIR, and two EEs, hens.... Well there are many lol.

I don't actually want to rehome Pip either. I was kinda joking. Kinda not. I hate that she's rude and pecky, and I don't insist that any of them let me love on them, it's just a bummer that she doesn't actually *want* something when she pecks at me, she just likes to bite. The others who peck at me want to be picked up. Anyway I wouldn't sell her for less than about $30 anyway because she's a beautiful Welsummer who lays gorgeous coppery eggs. If anyone's interested...
