If CR brings the eggs to me tomorrow I'm happy to take them to Renee!
Thanks Jess, I am pretty sure CR is planning on crashing the Ikea meet up

I might explain to her the situation with your son, as in he is obsessing about it. But that you really aren't over the limit, that chicks don't count. And he forgets the part that you will be getting rid of some when they get a little older.I'm debating... do I write a short e-mail to my oldest son's teacher or just let it go. Thoughts?
Yesterday, when my son was explaining his science project to the teacher, the teacher asked him a question about it. Instead of answering the question that was asked of him, he blurted out "We're illegal. We have too many chickens." The teachers responded "That's not good". DH said he didn't have time to explain the situation. I tell ya - my son has been obsessing over us having too many chickens since the day the chicks hatched. We've explained to him over and over that when they are out from underneath the heat lamp, the boys will be going away and we won't be over the limit. We told him the city, or the neighbors, are not going to care about chicks and if we had to explain it to anyone, they would completely understand the situation.
So - would you bother the teacher with an explanation, or just let it go?

We had a bear on our back deck this year. Yes, there are bears in our neighborhood.
Unbelievable what people can be comfortable with. The smugness of yippies irritates me (the yuppy hippies). $4/doz sounds just right!Farmers markets here in Portland area charge around $8-10 a dozen. Them hippies love them organic eggs. I charge $4/doz to coworkers

I know, I have 3 customers at work, plus my parents and SIL and my house to supply, all on 6 layers. I took care of my neighbors flock for a few weeks and was getting about a dozen a day from both flocks. Most of his 26 birds are in heavy molt, but it was easier to keep up with the demand. I even made "punch cards" that I can sell, buy 4 get 5th free, either dozen or 18 packs. I sell those 16/dozen card and 20/18pack card. Looks all professional with our farm name and 5 eggs to punch out.

If my husband doesn't work OT this weekend, I'm planning on being there, too. I'll know this evening. If he is working, I won't be able to be there.
