Has a little people home
. She has asked me to intercept the eggs from Trav and I will get them relayed to her somehow by Saturday.
Are you gonna be able to get the eggs to her, would hate to have them go to waste?

Gee, Carolyn F and I don't have any little kids to bring. Maybe we should bring our other little ones we treat like kids. Hens on road trip. Yahoo.

Hehe, traveling chickens!

Oh, that's just rediculous. Too bad there aren't more rich people who can afford that stuff, we'd all have more jobs and pay!!

Night all, see those of you going to the South meet-up tomorrow. I will likely be wearing my Pro Bowl t-shirt(blue). And don't be shocked if I don't carry conversations. I am horrible at the face to face conversations, at least starting them. Tomorrow will be a stretch out of my comfort zone. But I want to meet y'all.

I am the same way - very awkward! I don't socialize much, and sometimes, I talk about random things because sometimes the silence is too much for me.... and my words usually come out twisted or transposed, lol!!

I hatched out 8 BA's, but upon closer inspection I

discovered that my RIR rooster had made a unexpected visit to my little BA group.

Beautiful chick!!! Let me know if you want to be rid of any

I love a good conversation...but I'm a bit worried about having the kids with me and actually being able to hold a conversation. We'll see how it goes. I might break my cardinal rule ONE time and bring the iPad to give to them to play on in the restaurant just so I can think straight. Gah! I HATE technology moms who don't teach their kids to exist amongst other humans but give them devices to shut them up instead. OK. I talked myself right outta that idea LOL

I wish I could get all of my boys energy out with tough work on the farm!! I have some cousins that were raised with their face in the Nintendo DS, they probably turned out better than me though, I am the family's black sheep (my brother, RIP, and I) I cannot stand video games...I lose everyday though because DH is a gamer and I have four boys who want to be just like him! My five year old was too young to start kindergarten, is at home during the day and has a bit of, well, "extra energy". I don't believe in all that ADD and ADHD, I think that kids should have that kind of energy and I admit, I wish I had it too!!!

Ahem... yep, it would be the man in the pink mask.

I'm SO BUMMED! DD woke up with a fever. Thanks to CR for helping me by picking up the eggs. I should have figured something was up with her. Last night when I got back from taking my oldest son to basketball, her twin brother told me she spent the entire hour and a half that I was gone screaming and crying that Mommy left her. Usually she's a Daddy's girl, but Daddy wasn't good enough last night. I kind of brushed it off that she was trying to get attention because her twin brother has been so out of sorts the last few weeks. We're not exactly sure what's up with him, but he has been having a sub at school and he doesn't cope well with change. There's always something with kids, but man, her timing to get sick was impeccable. Ugh! Just when Mommy was finally getting to do something fun for Mommy.

I hope the rest of you guys have a good time. I'll be looking forward to the next opportunity to meet everyone.

I hope your baby girl gets to feeling better. I am trying to swing IKEA tomorrow morning, got to rope an extra rider, if I can make it, let me know if I can be of assistance, I drive through Auburn on the way home (167 to I-5)

I'm debating... do I write a short e-mail to my oldest son's teacher or just let it go. Thoughts?

Yesterday, when my son was explaining his science project to the teacher, the teacher asked him a question about it. Instead of answering the question that was asked of him, he blurted out "We're illegal. We have too many chickens." The teachers responded "That's not good". DH said he didn't have time to explain the situation. I tell ya - my son has been obsessing over us having too many chickens since the day the chicks hatched. We've explained to him over and over that when they are out from underneath the heat lamp, the boys will be going away and we won't be over the limit. We told him the city, or the neighbors, are not going to care about chicks and if we had to explain it to anyone, they would completely understand the situation.

So - would you bother the teacher with an explanation, or just let it go?

Haha! He doesn't want you to go to jail for harboring fugitives!!!! I would let that slide

From what I read for Tacoma's laws, they are only considered when full-grown.

Ha! The yippies!! They don't even get the point of being a hippie, smh....

But, better for them to spend their money than me!!!!

Just got this coupon from Wilco in my e-mail, so I thought I'd share! It doesn't appear to be unique to a certain user so I think sharing it is ethical (I am one of those "extreme" couponer types)
Thanks for sharing!!!!

Hey TurtlePowerTrav,I am going to do my darnedest to get to IKEA tomorrow morning, I drive right by Auburn and wouldn't have a problem getting them to you Itsren.

If I had an incubator, I would love to get my babies envoloved with actually hatching the chicks! Sounds educational/stressful, lol!

My word! I see that one thing hasn't changed around here! You all are still chatty as can be! lol ;)

It has taken me over an hour to cat h up from my last post from yesterday! lol But Im here, and Im trying to keep up!

See CR I didn't forget about this place! lol

Life is crazy on my mini horse farm. Went and picked up my daughters pony from the person who had him on a lease. I about smacked my sister for not paying attention to him while he was at her friends place. Chloe's rolly polly easy keeper pony, who is supposed to be aprox 600lbs, came back to us weighing in at 437lbs on January 1st, with a heavy worm load, and nasty ratty looking coat... It literally made me cry to see him that way. But in one months time He has packed on 75lbs and is well on his way to a full recovery. Heavy dose of wormer, timothy, beatpulp mash mixture with supplements, and lots of timothy hay. Next I get to have him knocked out and have his wolf teeth pulled and the rest floated. I am hoping that that will take care of what ever issue he may have had. The vet says teeth, "I say worms, teeth, and negligence," are the caused his weight loss.

My little girls are doing great. Baby Emily is growing like a weed and is trying to talk already. She's only 9 months! Big sister Chloe is a chatter box. She talks WAY to much for my preference! lol Only have the rest of my life to listen, so I may as well learn to enjoy her flapping jaw! lol

I finally officially quit smoking cigarettes! On day 63 without, and Im doin just fine. Wish my DH would at least not smoke in our van, and make it a little easier, and less stinky for me, but whatever. I'm dealing with it. I feel much better, and am saving SO much $$$ each week that its ridiculous! Im saving $52.50 a week!!! Or $210 a MONTH!!! Good grief! How on earth did I ever even afford it to begin with!?! lol

I have acquired four 16 foot long solid cattle panels! Im going to take those and make a hoop shaped run out of them and wrap it completely in 2x4 welded wire! And bury the 2x4 welded wire UNDER the entire run so that it will be 95% predator proof! I say 95% because there is always room for human error, or escape artist birds! lol I have a 90's erra kids plastic play house that will go inside the run for the birds coop, I also have my little home made wood coop that will go in there! That will be there lock up pen! lol Attached to "lock up" will be a 16x65 foot fully fenced ad covered paddock style run!

I am very excited for the upcoming construction of the "lock up" and the addition of the chicken paddock! I plan to keep the numbers down to 5-6 hens. No roosters! lol

My DH made me promise to keep the flock small in order to start a new one... :/ We shall see how that goes once all is said and done! lol

Chicken math!

I am driving 100+

Not to worry they will get there somehow. THEY WILL NOT go to waste.
X2... I'm not sure where everyone is, but playing pass the egg could be a fun after work activity.

ChickAudie, I just got an incubator! Not sure whereabouts in Tacoma you are, but you are more than welcome to come visit, use it, borrow it when we're done, etc. I'm having a tough time being patient enough though. lol... I cranked that baby up last night and stared at it, there's not even eggs in it yet!! I haven't figured out the thermostat yet, may need some expert advice on that though. Once it's got eggs in it, my daughter's gonna have to pry me away for the next 21 days. It's her project, but I'm definitely the excited one!

Haha, I will pray for your ears! I have a daughter that looks like she's gonna be "Miss Boss" over the boys, we shall see.....

Good job quitting smoking!!!!!!!!!

Hard habit to break, but well worth it!!
