For the longest time we thought for absolutely certain she was a girl - then those copper speckles on the tips of the wings started coming in, and her neck started turning copper like the others. We were really hoping for at least one BCM pullet.
Magill Ranch Cascade Layer Poultry Feed, Organic - Corn & Soy Free (50 lbs). $33.45
X2. #3 is questionable. The other set of pics all look like boys to me#3 is questionable. Keep it for a few more weeks to see if hackle and saddle feathers develop. 1 & 2 are pullets, which makes the earlier OE look like a cockerel.Ok... let's try this. Sorry I'm getting to this so late. The kid had allergy shots, then a B-Ball game. Here are the birds we think (hope) are girls... #1 ... OE![]()

And, what we are afraid is our only shot at keeping a BCM... #3... BCM We're concerned about the speckling of copper on the tip of the wings. You can see it in picture where she is in a green bucket. She flew back into the bucket that we carry them in twice while trying to photograph her (when we carry multiples at a time). Silly bird.

top temp is the air in the cooler, medium reading is the temp on the sensor (which is wrapped in a gel-pack), bottom is humidity- unsure how low it has to be before it simply reads "low" but I am going to add a few more droppers of water on the sponge in the cooler to see if it comes up a little.
I'm very proud of DH's ingenuity!
