Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

lol for the record I am horrible when it comes to setting limits on owning chickens. My husband controls it by putting his foot down saying no. But he also said NO ducks. I have 3, he said NO chickens at first, i have 6. And he went to visit his mom so i'm thinking of going to get some chicks. LOL When they are already here and i say "but look how cute they are" he gives in.

Argh. If I leave the happy family where they're at right now, the big girls will roost above them at night and poop in the brooder all night. I don't know what to do with them now.

If another hen hops in there, Lucy will likely flog the crap out of her. She will continuously cluck anytime they are not directly under her, it is how she communicates to them. And yes she will poop, if it gets a lot in there then you will have to clean it out, They will be those big nasty broody poops for a few days.

You may have to block off the part of the roost directly over the brooder until you take that out. You may have to get creative on that one.

My coop is finally done....ahhh.

great job on the coop Farns! How many chickens are you planning on?

I noticed you have the same type of fencing in the back that we have at our rental- lifetime stuff! I really like using the panel stock. I saw a guy using it for garden trellis- he grew pumpkins and melons on it- hung them in nets so they were upright.

First time ever -- but I couldnt keep up, so I've skipped the last 10 or 12 pages.

I sure am enjoying the 'spring' this weekend :)
