Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

OK, since you all are entirely too forgiving and super nice, and if I have a unanimous vote to stay, I will stay

Eventhough I know I am less than deserving of your friendships.

TacomaFarms and I are getting together this Saturday at the (tentatively) Goofy Goose around 2:30pm ish. Sweetlilbaby, did you still want to come? I can give you a ride. I will be bringing my middle two boys (3 & 5) or possibly my entire family is DH is up for it (he loves Goofy Goose, so if he doesn't come, I know I will be bringing home lunch!). Any other South-Siders are more than welcome!
To me it says a lot when a person can step up and try to make amends.

This was the third time I did it today. It looked so much more hexagon honeycomb the first time. I think I had to much honey this time. Finding a spot I could get a picture of it was a pain. Was to bright outside. Swirl lots. I was splashing water out a couple times. I should have used a deeper bow. It took a little bit to get the good lines. It probably would have gotten better if I did it longer. Started out looking sort of like waves then they split off lines and join. It was cool to watch. Keep doing it and the larger cells become smaller.
I think you peeps are having way too much fun with this.

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd pop in and let everyone know Hope is doing great and actually starting to GROW! It'll be awhile before she catches up to her siblings, but at least she's starting to feather in.

A quick word on Microwave. For those who don't know the hand held cell phones that many spend lots of time holding to their ear. Guess what ???? the signal from that phone is a type of microwave. It is way more hazardous than a microwave oven!!!

For anyone that has an aggressive hen in their flock, I would like you to try this method of rehab. I put one of my Production Reds into solitary for a week because she was super aggressive toward the 3 teens(enough so she took a chunk of Amber's comb). I put her in the shed brooder box for 5 days. The only contact she had with anything living was me once a day to collect her egg. She has now changed her attitude. She does not seek out the teens anymore, even when confined in the run. They all forage together now. Yes Little Red is still higher in the pecking order than the teens, but she no longer targets them. This was her last chance before going to the pot, which now she has a stay of execution. Which I am glad because she gives me a large egg almost everyday. So I challenge you all to try this method before culling out, what have ya got to loose by trying. You may get to keep them around after all. :D

Sorry I am so far behind.

Do you think this would work for a "teenage" rooster?

Don't think any of your hens are too big for the hawk to take. The one killed 5 of my flock in a week. It even got in the covered run/coop one day and took my biggest hen. (6lbs) Keep them locked up at all times unless you're out there with them. The hawks decapitate them, take out all the insides (liver, heart, etc.) I had to find 4 of my girls like that. It's horrible. They are very determined this time of the year and will stop at nothing for food.
Unfortunately, they are in a large pasture and free roaming - no lockup except the coop at night. Too big a pasture to cover it. Oh well, so much for pasture raised. . .
