Don't I know all about that?! Things that are supposed to be cheap or free NEVER are in the end!

I left the house today for the first time in almost 2 weeks. Dh got home from a long day in Bellevue at a conference at 6:30, I took a shower, and said "See ya! need to do some shopping!" and ran out the door leaving him to paint with the kids for their AWANA race cars and put them to bed. I'm a homebody, but sometimes a girl's just gotta get out! Got the kids and DH Valentine's cards, and bought some of what I need to make my own elderberry syrup. My immune system has been in the dump since Christmas and I need to boost it and get well/stay well!

I don't understand my DH. He is begging me to tell him what I want for V Day, and I told him I don't want anything. Just like I didn't want anything for Christmas. I have him and our kids and that is enough. How do I make him NOT buy me anything?

I kinda just "over" affectionate my DH. I'm the same way, I don't like him trying to spend money on me alone, when we should be saving for our future with the kiddos. I find that lavishing him with affection and repeatedly tell him that I want nothing, he does well at getting me nothing.

His way of gifting me is dreaming about our future together and treating me like a queen.

I died. They were gorgeous.

I sent a PM. I will keep my fingers crossed!!!

I know, If I was sticking with the Orps I would so be saving my $$$ and getting a bunch from her. I love the Jubilee's

I LOVE the Jubilee, that woman should be a millionaire. ah-hum...did you happen to catch how much those were?

no vitamix here. Thought about it, but I have:
a cuisinart food processor, (20 year warranty on motor)
a heavy duty beehive blender, (grinds coffee beans perfectly!)
a champion juicer, (makes perfect juice, and also nut butters
a Kitchenaid mixer
an ice cream maker (25 minute ice cream)
toaster oven (used tonight for grass-fed hot dogs) and
a stainless steel rice cooker

so, could not justify the add'l expense to get yet another appliance, ya know?
Most GF breads are very good these days. You should have tasted the crap they made 10 years ago- horrid! Now there's all these nice soft, squishy buns and soft chewy cookies. The stuff they used to have was like eating cardboard or sand.
Q: Did you say you are allergic to eggs?

Tami
I've been looking at rice cookers, in particular one of the Zojirushi units because of the excellent reviews.
Only reason I haven't purchased is because of the Teflon coated inner bowl.
By stainless steel, do you mean the inside, outside or both?
If you are happy with your rice cooker, please tell me the brand and model.
I was going to PM you but maybe someone else on the board has experience with rice cookers that he or she wouldn't mind sharing with me.
Thanks.

Hi Ruth! Holy cow, I have no idea why but this week both Willow and the BCM (we call her Kitty because she makes purring noises) have let me hold them without freaking out! BCM is SO soft! Perhaps the softest girls we have! I'm growing to appreciate them more even though Willow is stubborn and hasn't ever laid us an egg that we can remember LOL. I think once Willow starts laying again it will be easier to catcher her because maybe she'll squat again, but right now she's not doing anything but being timid. Silly girl. She's gorgeous though.

What? She was laying here when you got her. A pretty hen and a pretty egg, too.
Flying and not laying...naughty girl.
She was never one to cuddle. Neither was the BCM.
As you know, I kept my oldest hens (pets now, really) and I'm not sure how many eggs I'll be getting in the future.
There's just not enough room in my coop for more chickens.
I think I need a retirement home coop and an egg production coop.
Perhaps VF Coops has a retirement home model....
