Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I'd put whatever eggs you have on hand in the incubator so you can replace him.

I have some eggs in the bator but they are clear, so I don't think they are fertile. I do have 2 cockerels that hatched in October from him. They are very nice. And part of why I am going to have testing done. Hopefully whatever is wrong hasn't been passed on.

I am sorry to hear about your Rooster. Hope you figure it out soon and that it was not passed on.

Bothell Feed Center called me today and said that they had a chick with a problem and wanted to know if I would be willing to give it a chance and that they would give me a nother chick to go with to keep her company.
Here are two chicks I just picked up for free from Bothell Feed Center. The yellow one is a Delaware that has cross beak an something wrong with her right eye.

This is Chance!

This is Sushi. (not sure why I came up with that I thought it was cute.)

I found this on amazon yesterday ! What do you think for putting together easy enclosures?

dang it that would have been cheaper for my ducks then what i paid for a DIY kennel kit. Probably easier to put together too. I coulda got like 3 of those for what i paid for the kennel and put them together to make a HUGE inclosure.

Wait read that it doesn't come with the wire, or lumber. Expensive for just some brackets and stuff. Maybe just make a list of what is needed and go to homedepot and get them.

That says a lot about you personally that they would call you like that. They are precious. Sushi has an uphill battle with a kisser like that.

That would be a deal, but you have to get most of the materials from a lumber yard anyway. The brackets you'd need wouldn't be more than what they want for the "kit" (which isn't really a kit, but instructions and the hardware) That design is super easy. Also, they are recomending chicken wire, and from what I have read in the past, people with preditor problems suggest 1/2"x1/2" hardware cloth.

Oh, Hi baby chickies!! Poor Chance, is there a way to brace his beak so that it closes properly? Baby chicken head gear?

Quote: Thank you! Yeah, they call me any time they either have sick/chicks with issues. They also called me last summer when someone dropped a rooster off in their parking lot on one of the hottest days of last summer. They gave me a free bag of food because I said I would take him and find him a home for them.
Oh and Sushi is the black one, I named the cross beak one Chance, because I am trying to give her a chance.
