i haven't made ACV but I have made lots of Kombucha, which as far as I can tell is vinegar. The SCOBYs look the same too. If you want to make Kombucha you can buy a kit or just get a bottle of the live stuff, make some sugar sweetened strong black or green tea (per gallon, I use 1 cup sugar and 5-6 tea bags), let it cool and then add the bottle of store Kombucha. Both tea and Kombucha should be the same temp to avoid shocking the critters. Same process as ACV except you use tea instead of juice.Has anyone here ever made their own ACV before? I was reading a blog earlier today with three different methods and was wondering what the best method for me might be. I've got nothing but time and a curious mind so would like to make my own. Can't be that different from brewing wine, could it? Or I suppose it could. Different method, different product, different purpose. Never mind. Nothing like making wine.
