Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Does anybody know of a B&B an hour or so out of Tacoma that has great ambiance and horseback riding?

We are tossing up a honeymoon downtown Seattle, with an Argosy Cruise dinner, or a serene B&B.......

I really didn't think I was going to care that much, really didn't, but now that the day is official, ('Rents rented the club house for the wedding, so no backing out now!) I have butterflies all over again! I feel like a dang little girl playing fairy princess. I don't know if I like it!!

Feel free to smack me if all this gets annoying!!

Has anyone owned a great pyranese? They're suppose to be great livestock guardians ( with consistent training of course) your thoughts the breed?
Our friends have had several over the years, they are great but you must have fencing, so they can pateol their land. Or else the whole neighborhood becomes theirs.

There's no way I'm going to catch up on y'all, so I'll just jump in with both feet. I caught the devil's own cold, and since I wasn't able not to do chores it's dragged on and on- calving season, chickens to care for, and oh, yeah, a squirrel is eating my house, what fun. And I lost the omega cow and her calf from habitual bottom of the pecking-order disorder, which makes me sad and grouchy but also gave me another couple of hours of work every day while I was trying to prevent the inevitable. Some days I hate farming.

ANYWAY: my friend who got the extra BLRW rooster that I got from Tiff wrote me this afternoon; he has died after a brief illness, as the saying goes. She wants another BLRW; I should just give her Bjorn and get a new one to breed to the two hens I have left (Sylvia having perished from eating all sorts of non-food items) but in any case, does anyone know of a BLRW cockerel or friendly rooster available? And a blue or splash Ameraucana LF rooster; the owls got the one I was going to get from my cousin. I'm also going to need another SSH rooster this year, which may well be a trick.

Everything's laying, I've got to get a clipping table built and a sheep comb bought so I can shear Baaaachus, who is getting to big to go back to his pen, I have a dress to wear when my daughter gets married in July but am still freaking out about shoes, the dogs are still old and stinky and demanding and I mop a lot more than I want to.

Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps Washingtonians Please Help ChickAudie Plan a Wedding!

There I fixed it!!

Ok, so maybe obviously, with five kids, baby chickens and full-time job, I have no social life. DFH (like what I did there? Dear Future Husband) DOESN'T GIVE A RIP about this whole thing. He's happy to show up and be the reason for a kickarse party. So when I say I need help with the honeymoon, I have very limited resources to valuable opinions and could always use extra "IMO"s.

There are two options that we have:

1) Luxurious hotel suite in downtown Seattle, two night stay with a lovely Argosy dinner cruise and all the attractions of the city, mearly 45 mins from the reception; or

2) A two night stay at Abendblume B&B in Leavenworth (two and a half hours away), where they boast horseback riding, river rafting, wine tasting and peaceful sweeping country views. As seen here http://www.abendblume.com/index.html

GUYS! CHIME IN ANYTIME!

ONLY because you asked..... I think a dinner cruise would be a disappointment. Mediocre food and no way to get off when you get tired of it. Also avoid horse drawn carriages! They're cute to watch, but when you're in the carriage all you see is horse behind, dirty streets, and the smell of exhaust from the car around you.

What MOOD do the two of you crave? That's a big factor in deciding.

So it's been a bad morning. A predator got my broody last night. It got in through the one gap in the corner between the fence and netting. Or at least that's how it dragged the broody out. It ate her head, guts and breast. I think it was a weasel of some sort. I saw scat the other day out in the field and the dogs didn't treat it like coyote.

Today was 2 weeks on her eggs, I'm not sure how long they were without heat. I put them under the silkie who had just went broody a few days ago since her eggs were infertile. Hopefully both eggs with hatch.

DANG! I'm SO sorry!!!
