Nope .. I've not yet had the pleasure of making your acquaintance![]()
I am so excited. Also, Graham Hay Market will special order my Cochin with their new order for just the price of the bird. The problem is, I cannot decide on color. So many choices!!!Yay!!! Babies are much more fun anyways!!! They get to get used to your lifestlye and personalities. Our family car is a 'Burban too, so I know how that goes. I am tryingto get to Monroe tomorrow, if DH will go. I really want to add a Columbian Wyandotte or other mostly white chick to my flock, I would feel they would be complete yard eye candy then![]()

We'll see, he gets off at 6am Sat morning, so I doubt he would be up for it. Maybe I can hitch a ride with TacomaFarms? Maybe with a couple kids in tow, how many depends on how much room you have, lol! Or, since I have a 'Burban Beast you can ride with me...?
My Auntie had a Macaw (you have a parrot? IDK birds, they creep me out [the chickens are therapy]:0) he was HUGE and probably added to my fear of winged things. I remember him living a long time, though.

I wish I had a farm! I can't even begin to help you pick a color, lol... I go with the most color in the coop. My mother taught me that on my dinner plate, it's affected me. haha!
My neighbor has a parrot of some sort, perhaps he will login here and share more, but it's so funny! I can hear it squaking from my porch, which is usually followed by his DW coming out to tell me how annoying "Minny" can be when she's trying to nap.![]()
functional? Parrots? no...they are solely in the domain of children you sometimes think twice about having got. Turkeys do a lot of bug eating and dethatching in the yard but will deberry a bush in no time. Muscovys can be the best city duck there is since they don't quack. But you have to watch that they don't mate in the wild. Some states have laws against that. But!, they love mosquitos, bugs, and slugs, and wag their tails for you when it's feed or treat time.
Coop question: I am building coop #2 with a run this weekend at some point (between cleaning, gardening, and bunny cage building). How high do you place your roosts for LF? I have a short roost in their current coop, which they haven't used since they gained access to their nesting boxes.
I see some coops with really high roosts and some with lower roosts, which is best?
