so after candeling most of the eggs I put in the incubator 20 days ago at 10 days I was sure I had ruined the whole batch. Most went to the pigs. but there were a few I was not sure about so I left them in the incubator. I moved them off the turner late friday, and this morning my incubator is chirping! I will get at least a few I hope. I also got some rosecomb ancona eggs at the show last weekend from eliz and they candled great with at least 15 and probably 16 out of 17 developing well.

okay, so finally got around to taking pics of the chicks we hatched in our inCOOLbator on March 2nd. We've got Wellies and Barnies and silvers from a local breeder, plus we tossed in some blue/green eggs we had from our stock- black EE rooster x EE/Americauna bearded hen. Here's pics

This is a silver leghorn, and this one looks suspiciously like a roo, dontcha think?

here's a sad looking little Barnie that has weird crooked toes- the toes are like rubber- they move freely and it's not in pain- it seems like there's no cartilage there in 2 toes- very weird looking:

Hello fellow Washingtonians! I am from the beautiful Columbia River Gorge area and am looking for bantam pullets for my two cousins. They have recently formed a poultry club and want to show some type of bantam chick at their county fair in august. Please any leads of breeders with chicks/pullets for sale would be most appreciated! Thanks!

so how long does it usualy take for a chick to emerge after you see it start to break through. I know it will vary alot, just roughly is it a few minutes, an hour, several hours.

From what I have read and hatching my own, It can be any where from a few minutes to 24 hours.
