Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

LOL! RainMom, DFH saw the goat post this morning before I left for work! I almost had him ready to get one too!

Oh!!! Big chicken news! We FINALLY moved the chickers outside this weekend!! No more poopy basement!! We finish everything at dark so here's a fuzzy picture of the coop (still need windows and mesh for the vent holes) and Buttercup running to her friends.

(Ok last picture, promise!)
My cousin is the one in the photos above. Here I am with half a face (because I'm the most of awesome photographer)

Quick funny story...
So my weekend was so exciting, I slept like a baby. I woke up at 4:50am this morning to tell DH "Happy Birthday!"
It was so loud and out of nowhere, he just didn't know what to say!
I was dreaming he was on the phone with somebody and it was whoever he was talking to's birthday, so I really just wanted them to know that I wanted them to have a Happy Birthday I guess...LOL!

I also made my sweet tea to sweet in my dream...... :hmm

ah- you gotta do better on the coop pic! The other pics are great! Nice use of pallets!

So glad you got your baby neice out of the foster system, it;s not place for any kid.

Days like we had this weekend almost make me want to stay in the Puget Sound ("almost").

I need to sun to come out again today- I'm not ready for dreary again yet!

I need some ideas for garden paths that are free or very cheap. I want all the grass gone from that area.

Anyone have any ideas?

I will take a better pic of the coop when I get home, I moved it and added a couple little plants, I promise better pics coming! My cousin isn't so much a baby anymore (although I think she'll always be to me). She's 18 and holding my daughter in that pic. She is so unbelievably sweet, I am just so glad to have her back!

Thanks Hinotori! That is 4 pallets total. They are all ripped in half and we bought one 8' section of (non-treated) 4x4. VERY CHEAP project, lol!

wood chips from an arborist would be the easiest.

you could get pallets or other scrapwood, take them apart and do something like this:

"urbanite" broken concrete can be found for free on CL frequently:

I think this looks almost just as good as flagstone: http://www.finegardening.com/assets/uploads/posts/14246/image_2_FG_Pasadena_II-8.jpg

my paths are made with flagstone that I scrounged on CL piece by piece, either free or very cheap, before I knew of urbanite. I would have went that route I think--easier to get than flagstone :)

There was a place that was giving away granite scraps, I think that could make a neat path.

I've been collecting free granite and tile samples for a couple of years with plans of doing *something* with it--a path or a mosaic, I don't know. but a path would be one option if you could find a source for freebies.
