Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Oh.... I just put 2 + 2 together and figured out that Kummer Poultry is Erhard! Now I get it! I just met him at the Monroe show. Very nice guy! Very nice birds!

Does anyone know if he used to do Wheaten Ameraucanas? I got that impression somewhere but I don't see them on his webpage.

BIG weekend coming up. I overdid it! Over 100 chicks hatching tomorrow. I actually have the hatching tray full and had to leave a dozen eggs in a tray that are due to hatch tomorrow night! Am hoping I can pull a dozen hatchlings out to make room before the ones in the tray hatch or they drop to the front and I can pull them out.

For anyone interested, in addition to my four breeds I've got Barred Rocks, Buff Brahmas, New Hampshires, SLW's, and Spangled Russian Orloffs from other breeders around the country. Oh, and I have some very special Buff Orpingtons that should be here tomorrow. I hope to be getting some Blue Orps soon. Still looking for some nice BJGs, GLWs and Black Langshans. Should have some interesting Easter Eggers this year too. Got three Ameraucanas in the coop with all my other birds so I have no idea who the Daddy will be and I'm pretty anxious to see what my Rosecomb Barnies turn out like this year. All I need is for the RC to be there. Everything else is where it should be.

God Bless,

No. Erhard has never an any Ameraucanas. That would be me.

God Bless,

This little one is my dd's favorite chick. He/She was hatched with bent neck snd so is easy to catch. He also is the smallest of the seramas.

Hey, if your serious I do the drive about once a week, usually up fri or say, and down sat or sun, I would LOVE to come and visit!

This run was almost too many stops even for me :)... I left Bellevue at 1 and got home at 9:30 with 4 stops(1for dinner) the child was DONE with riding in the car by the time we got to dinner/sleepover for him... Then I still had an hour drive home .....

Are going to the Vancouver pnpa show on the 20th?
of course I'm serious! I love company, especially chicken folks! I can whip up gluten free chocolate chip cookies in 5 minutes

I know that drive going southbound on Fridays is hard- my DH did that drive for 2 1/2 years, and every Friday was a terrible traffic jam from Tacoma to Olympia. it was very tough working in Seattle and commuting home to Tumwater.

I do greatly miss living in Olympia sometimes- abnd I do miss shopping at the Olympia Co-Op. I have been unable to find organic, non-sulfered yellow raisins- it seems the only place that carries them is that Co-Op!! I have this infatuation for yellow raisins- love them in my oatmeal and in baking! I swear I'm ready to have them mail me some! There's some crazy plot against organic yellow raisins in King County- I'm convinced!

I don't think we are going to the Vancouver show- long drive- and we still have lots of work to get our garden in- first garden at this place- and it's gotta be big enough to preserve lots of stuff. Besides, I'd be tempted to enter my GLW broody in the show- but {{sigh}} she'd lose out as soon as the judges saw she was raising little mutt chicks!

(figure this puzzle: how does one take blue-green eggs from EE hens covered with RIR-mixed roosters, and get bright yellow chicks?)

Oh My!!! My little one's big toenails weren't even finished when she was born let alone having teeth! Ouch!
Mother Nature really offers up some surprises doesn't she?
Just Love Babies!
Yes she does... My doctor says its uncommon but not unheard of. I too love babies we are so blessed to have had 4 beautiful babies.

Ok I am trying to get caught up. I see
greens to feed or not to feed. pretty straight forward
youth poulty show can't go but sounds like fun
babies with and without teeth...my kids are 15 or older and all have teeth, but one of them broke some heeth and his jaw last fall while jumping down two flights of stairs.
cr's becomming the mad hatcher (that is a lot in incubators)
on the fence.... or gate that is. hey people lets keep those things shut because we have either livestock or pets in here I am not sure whitch.
a few newbies...HELLO a couple of offers for cookies, I like cookies
and what is this "shower" thing I have seen mentioned. I may need to get me one of those

My update is that the electrician will come back tuesday and spend a whole day changeing out the service panel in the shop, replacing circuits to the mill and brooders, and helping me label everything in the shop. if there is time we will also work on fixing an old display hatcher that is not getting to temp.

the hatchery sent 122 chicks for my 100 chicke order. if anyone was wanting some cx for the butcher day let me know.

last thing
the rosecomb ancona eggs I got at the show from eliz are hatching! 6 are out, 7 are working their way out, and four are taking their time, but it is still early. I have decided that I really enjoy haveing a chirping incubator by my desk(I put my feet on it as I type)
