Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

TRIPLETS!

So, we have three new baby goats. Not sure if the littlest will make it - he seems very weak, although he's trying his darnedest to get up. The other two are fine, as is Mom. This is her first freshening and she's really doing well. Until now, she would never take treats from me. Today she did; guess she was just too tired to get to the food bowl and appreciated me giving her a tidbit or two. She even let me stroke her babies without any fuss at all.

One down, one to go!

Oh, Oh, Oh.... I know what to do with the tiny one if he's not thriving.... well, I should say that Laughing Feather knows what to do, right Kathy????
Sew a pocket on your bra and keep it next to your body!!! Does wonders for struggling little guys!

You KNOW I'm just kidding! That's for baby chooks, not baby goats! But I just HAD to say it!

Hope he gets stronger and grows up to be a healthy little guy!

Today was really productive :-D A friend came over and helped me get two nest boxes built and hung off one side of the coop... So I thought I'd share some pics... It isn't painted or trimmed out, and I have to put roofing on tomorrow... but it is functional-- now to just get the girls to lay on it....

The new nest boxes :-D

Wonderful!! Congratulations!! I'm sure they'll love it.

Wow! It was nice to open some windows today and smell fresh air! Even Miss Daffy Duckers enjoyed it!

Everyone enjoy tomorrow because it will be the last day of summer around here!
