Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

So, how is that lovely suit project for your daughter coming along? I just finished a rather nice blouse, which I'm quite pleased with since it's my own design. And although it took longer to make because of changes while making it, I'm glad I took the extra time to make it just right.

I love linen, and embroidered linen is lovely; just can't stand that it wrinkles so much.

looks sooo nice; you did a really good job.

Quote: Got it at JoAnns fabrics - they have quite a nice selection of linens and linen/cottons. I have quite a lot in shades of beige, pewter and brown. And some white just for the heck of it.

Maybe I should pick you up sometime and we could go on a shopping spree (when you are caught up on chores!). I still have to bring you a duck for the wedding so you get to eat. And I really need every bit of space in the freezer right now.

School is almost out so I'll be on here more often I hope . Life is still crazy here my oldest son has surgery last Fri, he is doing ok no goes to see the Dr on their.

So my hubby is starting to get mad at me for all the chicks I have, if anyone is looking for some English Orpington please let me know I have young and maybe layers that need to go.

My hatches this year have been so hard we have lost power I think three times so it seems like every hatch something goes wrong. I've never had it be this hard.

I put my older rooster with my Cream Legbars and he is do ok by his job so soon I hope I'll be over run with them.

Oh, that's lovely! If it's not too snoopy, where did you find that fabric? I've sort of made wrinkles part of my personal style. I hate to iron, and love the was linen feels (and in hot weather anything but cotton or linen makes me get heat rash).

(when you are caught up on chores!) Funny lady, you are. I'm sitting here trying to get enough oomph to go get anything done after the afternoon feeding, watering, and bedding renewal for the chicks. I never did finish sorting laundry, and am in danger of needing to buy more socks (mostly because it's not winter and I can't wear heavy marled cotton over-the-knee socks that double as knee braces) unless I get them sorted tonight and washed tomorrow. Started to get stuff together for brooder-building and TA DA: batteries on my drills are both dead, so they're on the charger over-night. Potted on a Long John Silver rose which needs to go into the ground by this time next year, latest- this is the HUGE white fragrant rose that blooms from late June until mid-August with random blooms into the fall, which I'm holding to trade to someone as nuts as I am for big roses. (Big as in canes thirty feet long; it got potted on into a 10gallon shortie). Pulled grass for three cages of birds, one more to go. Picked up what eggs there are as they're layed, and I need to check that blue cow again, since she's acting... possibly nearing delivery, I hope. I need to drag you down to Portland to Fabric Depot some day, it's a religious experience for seamstresses: twice, possibly three times the size of the westside Joanne's and ALL fabrics, well about 10,000 kinds of buttons and lots of findings and trim but no craft stuff- no silk flowers, plastic vases, random florist's supplies, et'c: just sewing stuff. The only thing better is Britex in San Francisco: seven floors! A whole floor of remnants! I'm obviously avoiding work. Need to go wash to door mat before it starts to stink. My DILTB is coming by tomorrow to help with the shearing table, and I'll have a hired hand Wednesday, but I need to make progress every day or I won't be able to spend the week of the wedding doing wedding stuff.

Good to see you back! Hopefully you are over run with Cream Legbar. I have a guy coming on Thursday to help me separate off another area of coop space so I have a breeding pen for these crazy chickens. I have eggs coming from another breeder this week too, hopefully I get some nice chicks to hatch. So next year with cream legbars from 3 different flocks, hopefully I can actually get some nice homegrown chicks. This is harder than I thought going in.

My ducklings are off heat so much sooner so I would rather be hatching duck eggs but they are harder to find. I have a great system in placce for hatching, now I need a system for brooding. I like the idea of converting furniture to a brooder like the ones pictured so maybe if I can put the food dehydrator in the bottom the heat would rise and I can have different levels of heat for the chicks. Does anyone have suggestions how I can brood my chicks?
So, what kind of ducklings? We are looking for white, buff or grey Muscovies. Have anything like that?

I'll hold you to that! Perhaps even be able to come and help get some chores done just so you CAN do that! Brace is leaving my neck VERY soon now!

OK, well: that's one door mat the dogs won't puke on again!

Really, why did I think it could be cleaned? Old-fashioned jute with a fused rubber back, half of a giant one that was about ten bucks at IKEA: not worth the effort.

So, anyway.

Somebody want to tell me what I want for dinner?
