Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hello all!
1. I'm in Port Hadlock - anyone in visiting distance? Tea, coffee?
2. The white spot is skin, no feathers. Like I said, I keep getting bounced back n forth on the OEGB threads and Dutch B. threads. :) Waiting on the new coops to arrive this weekend, (will post pics) and some time to breathe before I try hatching a few of their eggs and see if they breed true. Too cute not to try!

I haven't posted here in quite a while but Trav pulls me in when he shares lovely pictures of his Silkies. I'm breeding Silkies on Whidbey Island in the Puget Sound. Currently have a white pen with Catdance and Sheryl Butler trios. I have a lot of colors coming on but not set up to breeding them yet. I also am growing out heritage Rhode Island Reds from Ron Fogle. Will start breeding them next year.

Some of my Silkies:

Catdance Blue Split girls

Partridge Catdance girls

White Sheryl Butler group.

I'm also planning on breeding heritage Blue Slate turkeys. They are now eight weeks old. Keeping back a tom and hen to start a pen.

Here is some of my breeding stock of Silkies

Three cockerels and one pullet. Ages 5-7mo(2 from a breeder in Kentucky, 1 Marge Best, and 1 Jennifer Vidmar)

Catdance kids(3mo)Light blue is pullet and Black is cockerel
Nice Birds Travis! Seems like I've seen these guys somewhere before

Well hello there neighbor! Nice to have you here. Judging from your head count I think you might be outside the city limits? We just might have to share a cup of coffee some time! I have 2 hens and three pullets, and NOBODY is laying right now or yet as age dictates.

Hi... on the Kitsap Peninsula here. I just have layers, no breeding. But love hearing all the conversation and enjoying going to the poultry shows. Lots of good breeders in the group though.
Welcome!
Lottsa Good Folks in General here!

Saturdays, sunshine, silkie pictures and itty bitty roo crowing videos! This does to get much better! Thanks for posting these!
I think it would be pretty easy to find myself with a little silkie army, they are way to dang cute!
Anyone know anything about the olandsk dwarfs?

Such pretty birds you all are showing.... lotsa little fluff balls!

Hi Rob.... Has your life slowed down any yet since school is out?

I agree, lottsa Good Folks, period.

Aleta: We're all so spread out around here we haven't managed to do a meet up yet. One of our good peeps is laid up with an injury, too. But if you can orchestrate something, be sure to let me know. eta: If you're ever in Silverdale, give me a holler, the coffee pot is always on. SweetMsMisty98... same goes for you!

Hello all! Just checking, since I just found this thread. New to BYC as a member, been nosing about on it for years. Want to start raising H. RIR and play with some interesting banties that fell in my lap recently (see avatar). On the Olympic peninsula, looking to make contact in real life with some chicken breeding enthusiasts :).  Thanks everyone!

Pot's always on in Gig Harbor too! Yep, it seems we are all spread out and pretty darn busy enjoying the summer, but put me on the list if there is ever a get-together! Although with two little kids I tend to be my own traveling circus :)

Hey there CarolynF and NintreesMom! Sure, why not. I do go south to Silverdale/Bremerton/Poulsbo quite often. Where's Gig Harbor again? Maybe we could meet up someplace. We can share phone pics of birds and decide who's house to 'flock' to first :)

I want silkies so bad but not quite sure where to get some

Sheryl Butler and Kelar(Catdance Silkies) are on BYC. They are not cheap though, unless you get pet quality birds. KMHunter and I should have some available next year. We are building stock. Those three breeders are in WA, I am in Oregon but travel to Lakewood for work most nights(Truck driver)
