This is very helpful. I had the WSDA here last Tuesday to test my flock as a precaution. The state vet told me that the avian flu (the strain that's going around now) kills within 3/4 days of infection so anyone who has it will likely know very quickly.

Kills chickens that quickly, waterfowl are really good at surviving it and thus becoming carriers. Which is the scary part

He loves ducks and Darth Vader so I figured I could get him a Cayuga or Black Runner and name it Duck Vader. But I am only hatching Anconas next month so I need a way to get my hands on just one little girl or guy...
