sad, and scarey all at once......though you would think if they did develop a resistance to the strain of AI and survived it would be a good thing like resistant chickens to this.... Now dont everyone start throwing rocks at me for saying that.. I just am debating here n speaking not that I am saying do this...as they become carriers at that point obliviously not a good thing.. I am sure though some ppl logic themselves right into ignoring the warnings and responsibility to others who have poultry and how it endangers everything.. which is probably why they did the compensation, as an incentive to get ppl to comply....and help with the hardship....

What remains real fuzzy is that in most informational posts is implies that it can be carried *in* the egg but the post that i referred to also seemed to imply that its passed because of whatever could be left on the *outside* of the egg as it is laid, because of the mention of lightly bleaching and not allowing to be hatched by the mother, but a way for someone to continue a bloodline AI free.

I guess a question for someone in the system…..

I see what you are saying, the birds could be quarantined instead of killing the entire flock right away.

Had breakfast out in the yard with DW then we were mugged by the girls.

what i dont understand completely is they are destroying any human kept flocks with this... but they have shown wildlife is carrying it as well but there is no destruction of those flocks ect....

My understanding is that they know that it is present in wildlife because they have found dead birds that carried the virus. I don't believe there has been testing of live wild birds. It's hard to imagine how that could be effectively carried out.
