Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

When they say "marigold", they really should specify POT MARIGOLD. Also known as Calendula. It is what they add to commercial feeds to give yolks better color. And they love it... and it is practically a weed here once planted... will grow from early spring to frost!
great advice! I also hear French marigold are good too. I wonder if that's true? I will dry it and put in their fermented feed treat, flock block and sprinkle in nesting boxes :)
So far I've been ordering organic dried Calendula and rose petals. Would like to grow my own.
Thanks everyone for the input!

When I first learned that people kept quail, in my minds-eye this is what I saw. Just because we have them around here and it's the only type I was aware of.

Would those little deely-boppers on their head count as a crest? :)
Deely-bopper HAHAHA!

Me too....and still looking for sea berry (Sea Buckthorn) locally....and my lemon grass is not doing at all good this year !
Sprouted & came to a halt, maybe bad Ph in the starter soil ?
So I am after more started palnts.
2 mint plants Hinatori gave me, both are different.
1 is peppermint, sweet & hailess, the other is kinda furry & a bit skunky and is ?

What I would really like to get is 1-2 green tea bushes.
That would do me well.
And Wintergreen.
Got to have that.
We'll talk.
Have you checked out the online Raintree catalog? They are in Milton off I-5…... there is a sea berry but it doesn't mention Buckhorn. May even have some kind of tea plant….know it has stevia…( doesn't do outside cold weather) A friend mentioned that there is another great nursery not too far from there too…Will look it up…..Also have taken lemon grass from the store and dropped in a glass of water and had roots….I alway look for the ones with the most base to it…..my only problem is i keep forgetting to check the water so it eventually dries out before i get a chance to plant it….

I just looked it up, its called Burnt ridge nursery in Onalaska, Wa. I am not familiar with it but Steve said he liked it better than Raintree….

Just spent a good $200 or so on Burnt Ridge, fruit trees.
The biggest reason I have no sea buckthorn, is cuz I have not really looked for it.............

At closing time at a bar, a cop watches a man stagger out, stumbling, fumbling and showing all symptoms of being drunk as he makes it to his car. After all the other patrons have left, the drunk finally gets his car started and the cop stops him to administer a breathalyzer. The drunk blows 0.00 and puzzled, the cop asks "How can this be right?" The drunk replies "Easy, I'm the D.D. -- The designated decoy!"

Hanging out at the laundry mat getting caught up on my byc. We ended up picking up some chickens on impulse last Thursday, four buff orpington and two gold sex links. That's not including the others I have to go get that I already have a trade deal for... lucky for me it kinda looks like at least one of the buffs are a rooster And I don't want a rooster. I'm kinda confused with our ordinance. I look up Tacoma, and it says 6 no rooster but where my house sits is part of the tribal jurisdiction (I think that's the word I'm looking for.) So we see Puyallup tribal police patrol the streets around my house. So I'm curious because as I mentioned before, the neighbor has a rooster we all know he does because we hear him.

You kids just blow me away sometimes.
At the laundry mat ? That takes so much money !
There are many re-fitted or slightly used appliances..I saw one a few days ago, a washer & dryer, 2013 models, with a guarranty, for $500.

Another place in Aberdeen sells W & D for $50-100 each.
I got a refrig from them in 2009, which is in my cabin, has a ice maker & all, and still works excellent to this very day, home to my vaccines, frozen red swamp milkweed, and eggs.

There has got to be a way to get you a washing machine.
I had one DECADES ago, I hooked up to a garden hose in the back yard (in Bothell) it froze one day...........

So I had to move it in the garage, move the Harleys outta the way !

I HATE LAUNDRY MATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The weirdos & bugs there gross me out ! I refuse to go there ! Not to mention a set of W&D can be had for the cost of a smart phone.
I just do not get kids these days ?

in most instances I would agree with you and typically I would be doing my laundry at home. But I have roommates who don't pay their rent and think they can do what they please, including was their same clothes three times before drying them. Removing the washer and dryer lowered my power bill $100 a month. So right now it's cheaper to go to the laundry mat until they move out
