Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Went out to put birds to bed and found our petite little frizzle has prolapse - it's too later to do too much, but I at least have her separated and cleaned off. Hope it will go down some to help get it squared away --- *sigh* Poor thing just cant cut a break on things that happen to her.

She's been through a lot already in the past years and now this. I so would hate to have to cull her, since she's such a wonderful little bird. Even after all the injuries she's gone through from other birds trying to kill her, shes still just as sweet. Just have to tell thy self "if it has to be done, it has to be done" -- I'll just do what I can do and see if she gets better. She's either 3 or 4 years old now, pushing more towards 4.

This is the first time we've had this happen to one of our birds.

Isolate her in a dark area, and hopefully she will stop lay, and then be able to heal !

@chickielady
He said they were "1 white and 2 brown" when I asked him the breeds....lmao. I'm guessing one of your typical eggers. Americauna run rampant around here, so do leghorn. But then again they could be mutts.
I doubt he has a light, he's just got a bator laying around with no eggs in it or on theit way to it :p
And it's been cold and gloomy. They're probably waiting for real spring.
(Californian still getting used to "weather")
@lil go peep
I'm definitely starting to think its due to the shitty weather. WHY ISNT IT ALWAYS 70° AND SUNNY D: WHAT DOES RAIN MEAN!?!

@CowboysAngel
How are baby fluffy butts? Does Romeo have new egglings already? Lmao. I found bantam chicks for sale....5 minutes from my house. 2 week olds amd their chicks have been popping today..so hopefully I'll be able to do a chickalong with you

Ok now I do not remember the quote you are speaking of, and what part of Cal are you from ?
Edited to add:
Chicken Rustler was here today & no longer has Fudge, the famous Sal. Fav. cock bird, although he has some hens.
SO, I suggest you get together with elizmartin about salmon favs....
Tell her, I (as in me, Chickielady) am going to Monroe on the 3rd, and can meet up with her for chicks or eggs (which ever you want) and then I can bring them back down south here for you to pick up.
OK ???

Einstein still regularly goes to NorCal to visit, and when he does, we cart eggs/birds/and other critters back & forth.

Does anybody know where I can get lavender Ameraucana hatching eggs in WA? Preferably the Monroe/Bellevue area. my incubator is empty and I would love some of these gorgeous chickens, chicks work great too.

Awe wish I knew - So far it seems these are a "wanted" breed among most people now?

Wish there was a way to create a pole to see what breed is most desirable to people. I know Marans and Australorps are generally. We had a Blue Copper Maran, that wound up brutal so sadly he had to be put down. Beautiful bird tho for sure. Australorps I've never had those.

We're looking at maybe getting more Russian Orloffs. Our one hen who is 4 now lays some really BIG eggs. But she could be an exception, now we have someone who has topped her eggs - they wind up big enough cant close the egg carton. I just don't know who.
@Rare Feathers Farm (E WA) has awesome SQ R Orloff & Sumatras.
@pips&peeps raises SQ Ameraucana...all flavors.
Both of them SHOW & breed for APA SOP~ Perfection of the breed.

From Campbell- aunt lived in Los Gatos hills- I disliked Cali even tho I grew up there- my dad was born N.D and my mom born in Cali, but all family lives here- I was born in Aberdeen here then when I was 2 I think we moved to Campbell to take care of aunt- 2011 we finally got to move out of that hell hole up to here- I've never been happier- close all the family I never got to see and back to my roots

The babies wound up interesting - one we named Blondie which wound up a rooster, the hackles were blonde all way up to the head and Frizzles to boot - we found them a home with a family who's standard rooster became aggressive and they have small boys- so we suggested our bantam Cochin Frizzles so the boys could get over the fear and learn not all birds are like that- I guess the family just adores the ones we gave them, of all things they named the rooster Bob lol
