Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

The house we're that we've been in since Sept. - the previous owner managed to plant Vining Myrle next to the house and anyone who knows the plant knows that was a BAD idea and I also have it growing through a stump in the middle of my lawn, it had been there a while for how thick it was- got most of that junk out but it's legs are still around and re growing

This whole area was Myrtle, which I've now noticed its spreading into the actual lawn - bad stuff, bad
I LOVE Myrtle Trees, (aka: central western Oregon, Coos Bay Coquille area) Love Myrtle Trees...so what you have is NOT a Myrtle tree...what is it ?

Ok... I have to weirdest question of the day!

Has anyone ever heard of, considered, or actually done... Stud service for their hens? Yeah, TOLD you it was a weird question! See, I'm not allowed to really have roosters. But I am starting to see why Hamburgs are becoming endangered. The little buggers are NOT easy to raise. Each of the 6 I have seem to have varying amounts of black, from very little to almost covered in spots. All SEEM to be sound conformation wise. If any turn out particularly nice, or all are at least decent... I would love to breed in the spring each year and get some others out there raising some. I'm wondering if I could "rent" a rooster for a week or two at that time. Is this an insane idea?
PM 'StumpFarmer' here on BYC, she is in Lacey, and has Hammies.

Gee... I'm installing a full cottage garden. I would be your nightmare of a neighbor!

You can be my neighbor !!

I look at some beautiful flowering vines and think how lovely they would be, but then I remember the bindweed in my yard and how I could probably string a bridge of it together to cross the pacific... Staying far away from vines thank you!
I have Honeysuckle, red/purple vines, green leaves, yellow-crimson flowers...Gorgeous & bees & Hummingbirds love it !

Not growing vines because of bindweed, is like not growing daffodils because of dandelions!

Bindweed is HORRID. I'd STILL trade it for horsetails. If you just stay consistent ripping up the bindweed, it will stop growing and can't reseed. The more you rip horsetail out , the more it grows and spreads! Granted, horsetail tea rinse for your hair will beat ANY salon treatment for thicker, stronger hair! I like to infuse mine with rosemary and mint. Hair is shiny and smells good for DAYS, and it is a natural insect repellent. So is lavender, but I just do not like the smell of lavender. I grow it, for medicinal properties... but I'm just not a fan. My daughter adores it. To each their own!

I am the type that kills philodendrens but can grow orchids. Go figure. The plant in my yard that is struggling the most... peppermint. Seriously. Stop by and I will prove it! I can't grow easy stuff. Killed 4 aloe plants thus far. And a cactus. 3 spiderplants. I'd go on... but it depresses me.

BTW... 6 chicks busy eating. How 6 bantam sized chicks can eat almost a cup of food in one day (and no, there is little spillage) is beyond me! Are we SURE chicks can't die of overeating?
