I did see some other bantams, but the owners mentioned that they either free range or are flighty... So might defeat the purpose if one free ranges and the other doesn't... So just thought I would try to stick to the Silkie breed...

It's ok, thank you! Just need these little eggs to hatch! So far I've only had to discard 1 Silkie egg and 1 LF egg. I have 8 little Silkie eggs that look to be developing just fine... Which includes the staggered 3 I put in after the bear attack. They are just starting to get veins.

MY FIRST EGG!! EVER!!! I've never been so excited about something so simple! But what a wonderful surprise this morning! The precious POL Chocolate Orpington that I bought 2 weeks ago rewarded me with this! So now the big question. I have 8 week old's and her, what/how to feed now? Her egg shell was nice and strong but she is eating grower crumble with the babies.
We took the picture with her egg next to a store bought size large egg.

Nice! Simple joys are the best!

It's been said to be a spammer... usually in mobile mode it's unnoticeable other than delays, duplication of pages, and inability to post. In desktop mode it shows up as Asian characters.... no clue why a poultry social media site but it's been going on here and there throughout the sight for a couple months now.

Rod t, did the snow stick around. Who ever posted the bowl of colorful eggs... I am jealous. All of my hens lay different shades of brown.
