I have 9 that are 16 weeks old...probably still 8 weeks away from eggs! ARGH! At least the Chocolate Orpington is delivering an egg a day! Course then I hoard them for a week to feel like I have "EGGS". LOL

So your Turkey is a Tom ? If so, you ain't getting white eggs from him !Well my stupid Turkey was trying to rape my chickens I pulled it and placed it in a little coop I have separate. this is the highest amount I have had. usually about 5 a day![]()
Macular Degeneration ?Not being able to regulate temperature would really stink. I have very little vision and will eventually have none. So I am working on designing a coupe that I can still manage even if I can't see anything.
I set about 3 dozen Sulmtalers & Lavender Orpington eggs 2 days ago...spring is on its way & I am getting tons of eggs !I am so ready to get some eggs! My three hens who laid faithfully almost every day for a year, quit in mid-November, molted, and haven't laid a single egg since. My three youngsters still haven't started at 6+ months. I want eggs! I am happy that one of my beach ball size English Orpington pullets squatted for me today -- so hopefully eggs will soon be on the way.![]()
Could be !Probably the cross, they were purchased at Shelton ace hardware we use to live there. I bought all of them as pullets? a few days old. I did not want a rooster still don't, my goal was to have fresh eggs here and sell some to recoup the cost of birds![]()
even had the shock one of the brahmas squatted in front of me for pets this morning.
I am beginning to believe it is my vision and the color is diluted from being so large. I am even thinking to buy a few more pullets in the spring to add to my flock.
