I always introduce my new birds at night.
When the flock wakes in the morning, and sees a new face, most times they go on with their business as if this bird was there all along, unless the new bird is freaking out...and attracting attention to itself...then you have to step in & take it in a different angle...where I put the youngsters back in a brooder & try again a week later or so, also at night.
Never had any issue further.
