SUNSHINE!!!

I just shipped more eggs so now I get to go plant a cherry tree and an apple tree....Einstein went to the dump.....all things have to be done before the next nasty storm comes in !!!

I still have not been able to force myself to sit down & finsih a painting.........so later I am going to pour myself a glass of wine, and start a new painting that hopefully the voices in my head LIKE better than this unfinsihed one!

The art show submission last day is March 10th !!!!! Time to get with the program and I have not been able to talk myself into finishing!!!

So....it's time !!

Multi talented, I have a hard time doing more than stick people

but I do like to play in the dirt planting outside too

I love seeing all these pictures of chicks. Earlier on somebody asked about when to move them outside full-time. I was also wondering that. They will not have any heat outdoors. So what is the temperature where they will be OK outdoors full-time? It's still getting pretty chilly here at night, sometimes into the 30s.

How can you tell them all apart? I have one barred rock and so far she is The least tame and the leader of her little tiny three bird flock. I have nine chickens total, six different breeds. The problem is I keep finding more breeds I want. I told myself I wouldn't get more than six chickens, then it was eight, now I have nine. It seems like chicken math is the only math I am good at.

See I am more of redneck chicken owner I guess I don't really try to tell them apart, I was the same with the Brahmas there was a little one in the group I could tell her apart or maybe my lack of vision? but truthfully I am not that attached to any of them.

, My chickens are more like pets. I guess I'm not a true farmer, I tend to name all my animals. And I can't eat when I name. I'm not as attached to them as I am to my dog or cat but I am still sad if I lose one. It would definitely be easier if I didn't get attached to them.

They are big! I'm pretty happy, I've got 2 more zipping as we speak, so far still only the 2 boys, we'll see what these two are.

OK. Their feathers are coming in very quickly. And they can just about fly out of there brooder box. I will have to put something together out there. All of my chicken enclosures are sort of Jerry rig for right now until I get the new one built.

It's kinda funny I do really spoil the birds wanting to do best for them, they have a really cool coop lots of shavings. the yard is getting moved so they have new ground to decimate about the time it is shot maybe where they are now will come back although they are under trees so it does it matter?. I am always buying them vegies or treat blocks I have a full garbage can of cracked corn, I really do want to do best for them I just don't really know one from another they all squat for pets. if all else fails I can turn the coop have it face a different way

See I don't want to eat them I want them to lay eggs, thats why I sold the brahmas they are still going to be layers not eaten
