Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Scarily, my very best layers are the silkies. They lay like mad when they aren't broody. Unfortunately, there is usually at least one broody and they will try and hatch all the eggs if I'm not diligent. I'd be up to my eyeballs in silkies.

I have a silkie/Dorking that lays just about every day it seems. Must be a silkie trait.
When she learned I was there too take her eggs, she disappeared for 17 days. Turns out she found a way to get into the wall and was sitting on eggs. Stupid broody chickens.

Here's another piece of weirdness with my Araucana mutt. One day blue egg all the way through, another day blue egg with white inside!

And yes, for sure she's my only blue layer.

I think I have said I don't want a rooster or hatching or any of that. Do you think my bards at some point will become broody?
does this happen with age? a certain time of year?
