You didn't miss anything in my view a very tiny place with
nothing exciting We would not have driven 2 1/2 hours if I had any idea
are you intending to sell any of your pullets? I am getting three from
junnebuggena on Tuesday I hope but would really like a few more
that should have colored eggs other than brown.

Mine are all dark or light brown layers.

My chicks are a month old. I just have a heat lamp over them, a 60 W bulb. I have it on 24 seven right now. In the house. My coupe does not have electricity. I think they are about half feathered out. It's still getting into the 30s at night and often raining. 50s and 60s during the day, and often raining when can I move them outside to a coop? All the threads I find on this topic seem to deal with coops with electricity. Their temporary coop, until I get the new one built and integrate them all at the same time, will be a pen with a dog crate.

Really depends on the weather.
If it is cold outside, they would need extra heat, and protection from drafts.
If it is warm out, like 70 or so, they would do fine if mostly fledged & protection from drafts.
You can watch them & see, if they are cold they'll cluster together, in a corner usually.
If they feel OK, they will roam around.

If they are hot they will pant like a dog, and try to get as far from the heat as possible.

Have you asked Marg Best ? She comes up from Oregon City...there is a few others down that way, have you looked at the shower's list (look at their addresses) and then call them to see if they can meet Matt ?

My left ACL went in the shepard ring, had a minor stroke then graves disease took most of my vision
and they found my spinal column is closing in my neck. the little bees in my feet
are neuropathy caused by years of chemicals... and the list goes on..
I do not slow down or give in.......and will not wine or bore with more....

So...........we have another blow down coming...and every Oregon google map I have looked at so far today has had a WARNING Weather Event pop up...that Oregon will have weather Event today...I have never seen that google feature before....
Just look at an Oregon Map...like google Astoria like you are looking for Costco...and PO here comes the weather warning....

Hello, everyone! Some of you may remember me from a few years back. I was trying to raise a small flock of 7 hens in Seattle with an inadequate coop I got stuck with. Anyway, then some life shinola happened in October 2012, and I had to give up my flock to a very nice lady I met in this thread. Can't remember her name or handle, but she runs Collier Clocks Farm.

Basically, life is MUCH better than when I was posting here back in 2012. We have worked hard to make our dreams come true. Chickens are just icing on the cake!

Always love to hear about folks living their dream!

I too live on a Puget Sound island and consider it paradise. We started with raw land about 27 years ago. Built everything ourselves, using wood from the property for some of it. Sure wish you the best of luck in your adventure.....and it is always good to have chickens back in the picture.....they make it feel like home.

Rain coming down sideways but had one more garden whole to do
wet from it we got it,James saw one of the tie downs for the
barn was pulling out so he layed a brick on it then we came inside for break and figure out food
for tonight. We have 4 more wholes to do if we get a break in the
weather for 10 minutes we will keep a close eye on his carport
that is our week point.

The wind has subsided here in Mossyrock as well the sun peeks in and out but the
storm seems to have passed, We intended to lay a gate for our water meter reader
but kept hitting on something like maybe the water line

decided to wait.
All the post for my Garden are finally in
