6.05.33 Keeping of fowl and rabbits.

Repealed by Ord. 773. [Ord. 551 § 23(A), 1987.]

Would this mean, as long as my fowl are not breaking any of the other codes in the ordinance, I can have them in La Conner? I know that roosters can be a bit... well noisy. But I intend to only rent the cabin, and then move to a large piece of property to own a farm, far from any sensitive ears or complaining people who wouldn't like rooster crows. I really am in love with my boys, I could never leave them behind. They are sweet, soft, and show worthy, which is something I can't just give up. Hoping the repealed codes are not modified and put into place to where I canot have roosters.

Knowing how the La Conner area has changed so much in the past 20 years......I grew up in the San Juans and the Skagit Valley used to be an agricultural area where I had family living,,,,,I wouldn't be surprised if roosters are a "no go". The town used to be a cute fishing village, then artist colony.....sorry to say it is now pretty much a tourist trap/retirement for rich folks area. Land will be crazy expensive and the concept of small acreages (1-5 acres) has replaced the farms for the most part in the entire valley. That has happened all up and down the "I-5 corridor". Depending on your financial resources it may be something to think about......there are cheaper and more agricultural areas of the region still available, but Seattle-north-to-Bellingham is no longer one of them.

Quote: Daaaaangggg... I love being an artist, which is probably why I loved La Conner, bugt I had no idea it was basically a tourist destination .... thats both good and bad for my field of bussiness, XD I'm going to be a photographer and a chicken breeder, along with working in my aunt and uncles shop. in ancortes. Would you know of the nearest area to anacortes that has "bigger" real estate in acreage for sale, or as options for employment?
