I remember the billboard when driving to oregon we loved it and always read it.

Daaaaangggg... I love being an artist, which is probably why I loved La Conner, bugt I had no idea it was basically a tourist destination .... thats both good and bad for my field of bussiness, XD I'm going to be a photographer and a chicken breeder, along with working in my aunt and uncles shop. in ancortes. Would you know of the nearest area to anacortes that has "bigger" real estate in acreage for sale, or as options for employment?

Doing a realty search (ex Zillow) will give you an idea of prices and availability. Sounds like you have a place to start from in Anacortes, which is more affordable than La Conner. One rule of thumb might be that the farther from the water and the interstate one goes, the lower the prices. Best of luck.

I would recommend more females before you add a male; or be ready to separate the male from the females in the spring for several months. Drakes will mate the hens all year, but in the spring he goes into an insatiable mating frenzy. I had one drake with 6 females and he ravaged them. It got so bad that I now have only females.

I agree. Our drakes are good to our hens. One will even sit on a nest while the hen takes a break.

My neighbor just told me that the people that moved in across the alley are throwing rocks at my chickens. Well, the kids are anyway. That makes me so mad, they better hope I never catch them doing it.
