That's what I'm doing as well. I've done my research, time for the real, hands on part of the lesson.

We have 5 chicks and been growing them out for 2 months, coop is done, the larger run is going to be finished this weekend. Welcome to the forums!

Free silver-spangled Hamburg rooster. Will deliver anywhere within 25 miles of Stanwood. He is about five months old. I must be honest about two things. One, he started limping a couple weeks ago, probably from one of our older, larger hens who wasn't too keen on his overtures, but he is barely limping at all anymore, and I suspect he will make a full recovery pretty soon. Two, he attacked our landlady next door and her small, elderly dog this morning. He has never messed with us or our cat, but he must go. I know we'll probably have to kill him, but our landlady is super upset about that because she's gotten used to him by now, so I told her I'd try here first. Maybe he could be toned down in the presence of a larger, older rooster? Very pretty boy, and he can detect an approaching eagle about 10 seconds before we can and then warn the flock. He's a small breed, about five pounds. Just thought I'd try!

he is pretty. I wish I could have roosters.

Hi, y'all! Glad to see a new dedicated Washingtonians thread. My wife and I live in East Whatcom County near Mount Baker. Our flock is small for now, but still takes care of the egg needs for the two of us. Our birds are great fun to watch as they roam our grounds. We have four hens - A Black Copper Maran, a Barnvelder/Black Copper Maran Cross, a Black Copper Maran/Cemani cross and a Blue-Laced Red Wyndotte. We also have a beautiful Blue-Laced Red Wyndotte Roo that just started to get his crow on and tried to mount one of the girls this morning. Regrettably, we'll probably have to sell him because crowing roosters are not always tolerable for our vacation rental guests. :-(. Anyone local like to trade him for a young, healthy laying hen?

Welcome to everyone new! I think I missed some.

Everyone try and stay cool. Don't be stupid like me and go weed whacking in the heat

Do we get to see the paintings?

I should do another chicken but the DH wants an owl for some reason

when I get it done, or do you want the play-by-play photos I have shown in the past ?
Those are so cool...I take a photo of the painting as I go along.

Have you seen the " Dock Otters " photos ?
If you want to see them, just hollar at me.
I am yeasting a vat of wine right now, and canning, dehydrating, freezing veggies and have a batch of plum jam to make in the morning.

This time of year is all about harvest.

I still have not made my mind up on an exact subject matter for my next painting !

I DO have alot of Owls....they are always good..so I'd love to see yours as well !
