@Duck Drover I hope the nerves settle down soon. Mom had a lot of issues with hers after surgery. I can't imagine what it's like.
In regards to your pain, Oil of Oregano (essential oils) is very powerful . Message using several drop with coconut oil, starting with your souls of your feet and message working up toward your heart. Check the You Tube on Oregano for more information. It does workFor the first time on Sunday I made Belgian waffles using duck eggs and they ended up too rich for me (but incredibly filling). We have made brownies with duck eggs and I will never make brownies with chicken eggs again. We also have made cookies with duck eggs and they were so much better but I am going to have to stick to using chicken eggs for Belgian waffles. The duck eggs would be so perfect for crepes.
I keep seriously thinking about converting the Orpington coop to a duck house and not raising large fowl (just the Silkies) until we can get acreage but I have invested so much into breeding nice Orpingtons that I would need someone to take over my breeding program so the hens don't end up as layers and the roosters as dinner. I have put too much work into our birds to see them end up in the wrong hands. We even built a cabinet incubator to use for hatching instead of using styrofoam incubators and then I did not even hatch this year due to my surgery and recovery.
My surgical incisions have been slow to heal, which I guess is no surprise since the damage to my veins from using compression for the swelling from the injury is still healing at the same time. I have alot of blanching still but the swelling is greatly reduced so that light compression is effective in supporting my ankle enough as the tendons heal. I am 8 weeks into the 12 weeks it takes for tendons to heal and scar to 80% of their original strength. The heel pain from the bone spur and plantars faciitis is completely gone but I have to use a gel pad in my heel because the incision is still a bit raw.
The biggest issue I am having is shooting nerve pain and muscle spasms which seem to feed off each other. When I lightly touch the ankle incision I get electric shocks over the top of my foot and into my toes accompanied by a stabbing sensation in the top of my foot where it has felt bruised since the surgeries. In order to stabalize the weak tendon and muscles while they heal I need to use support but anything touching the incision causes shocks and stabbing sensations followed by muscle spasms that trigger more shocks and stabbing. I notice gradual improvement and my surgeon said it could take months for it to resolve so I just have to put up with it for awhile longer.
My daughter and I start our jobs working as actors in the haunted houses during Frightfest at Wild Waves tonight. Fortunately I have a seated character to play so I won't be running after anyone with a chain saw, just escorting them to the emergency exit if they freeze up and want out. I am in the first room but there are always people who get to the first scare and want out rather than going through the house after standing in line to get in. I have worked security 2 years and this is the second year I am working as an actor but the first time was 9 years ago when I did it with my older daughter. Now my younger daughter is a professional paid actor too. I am picking her up from play rehearsal at school (she has several parts and she is the assistant director) and we are going straight to our acting jobs from there.
