Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Wow, that looks like a great place for chickens to wander around. I'm not gonna show that to my chickens then they will know they are deprived.
My sick chicken is feeling much better. She's eating and drinking. She is still losing some feathers so maybe she is molting some. The others her age are though. They are about a-year-old. Do you think it safe for me to put her back out with the rest of them tomorrow? I thought I would do it after work when I have time to supervise.

If she's close to back to herself, I'd put her back out with them under supervision. They seem to recover better if they aren't alone.

@Leigti sounds like a solid plan and molting that first one at year
to 16 months is real tough on them only now my br of the 14 month
are one by one starting to lay again

Yeah, I did some calculating and they are about 16 months old. Maybe she tried to go broody and mold at the same time. Either way she wasn't doing well but she's better now. And I figured out that it will let me post pictures on here again :) so I'll take a picture of her tonight.

@Leigti Give them chick crumble even some yogurt to get them through it faster
I had the luxury of my ee and oe had started to lay along with a couple of the 20 br I had bought
but only kept like 3 getting 13 a day without the big 5

I have a hen, who wasn't even broody, trying to help raise the chicks. On the plus side her method is to stick close to the mama and help find them food. And attack me if I get too close. Her and a couple other hens raised three chicks before. One would hide the chicks and the others would come at me.

Well, I put her outside with the others today. Didn't seem to be any squabbles yet. She basically went under a bush and is taking a nice long dust bath. Feathers are really coming out by the bunches now. Is it common for them to get lethargic and weak and skinny before they malt? I hope it is just a malt and nothing worse.

I have a couple hens that just hide for their molt. They want nothing to do with anyone until the feathers are all back in. One follows me like a dog and wants cuddled even though she complains about the feathers coming in. She is not normally a cuddler. Going by how Mom's parrot reacts to blood feathers being touched, my guess is they are sensitive
