Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

We drove to Yelm for a 2-year-old LGD today during the snowfall and there were many vehicles in the ditches along the way so it was slow-going. To our surprise, one of the vehicles that slid off the road was a snow plow! Fortunately we made it safe and we now have a beautiful new addition to the flock.

Well, for the first time since I've owned chickens, basically three years, most of my chickens decided they would rather be in the coop rather than running around the yard today. It's going to get even colder next week. I put a new bail of pine shavings in the coop and under the coop in the dry area without snow. Their food and water is outside under the coop. It looks like we are getting the winter they predicted this time around. Most of my chickens don't mind snow but some of them have never seen it before and it is sort of funny watching them try not to walk on it :)

oh ya no chickens want to walk on it I use the cup method for water
lines frozen taking trays of snow in they love it... birds have not been out in 2 days
just comical but still giving me a dozen eggs a day...
now we need to get building a coop for theceltichorse
