Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

My daughter is looking to expand her 4h silkie breeding project. She wants to get some really strong splashes along with Blues as well as blacks. Duckdrover was really kind and gave us some very stunning roosters last year but we are still on the hunt for a couple pretty true black bantams. Anyone have hatching eggs or even a straight run of chicks we can pick up a few from? We live in SW Washington.

you might go ahead and message @Hinotori
she has the line on Silkies
and is in Graham

I only have partridge.

Try Catdance Silkies she's in Yacolt.

I am hatching more quail for the wildlife rescue so they will be going over there tomorrow. They are fun to hatch and soon I will be hatching my own once my Texas A&M quail chicks are laying. I have a plastic dog heating pad under the plastic tub they are in with a Victor Ultimate flea trap that uses a night light bulb. The lid is vented to give them fresh air but also trap in heat and I can regulate the temperature by sliding the lid more open or closed. I use shelf liner on the floor of the tub so they don't slip as they are running to the food and water then back for a power snooze.

Catdance is local for us being about 45 minutes North. Is she doing more than Whites? I see her birds in shows down here pretty often.

I have some from her line and I would love to hatch more eggs from her. I drove down for them and unfortunately most were either infertile or they got too cold since I got them out of season. She has beautiful birds and she is very sweet to visit. Even from her show stock I had to sell most of the hatch as pet quality but all it takes is a few keepers to make it worthwhile. Hatch as many as you can so you can be selective about what you keep. I drove all over the state for birds and then only keep the best ones for breeding.

My stunning dark blue hen is from Catdance lines. Love the bird; just beautiful. We are being pretty picky and I will be cleaning birds once the weather is improved and checking through them to move pet quality bird to new homes. Only pet quality we won't part with is my daughter's showing and fitting bird. Little thing is darling and really the most docile of all my birds. She pretty much does what she is asked and is pretty blase about life but she is a pretty homely silkie.
