A juvenile eagle got one of my ducks this evening. Right before cooping up time. She was still moving when I found her with the devil bird on top of her. She's still breathing, but just barely. Injuries are superficial but I think the neck may be broken. I hope she makes it till morning.

I lost my Olive egger today she was behind the water buckets no sign of damage feet pulled up she had a real tough molt never layed a egg in 4 months now but was not egg bound either

not sure if she was hurt by the br before I got rid of them she has been roosting by herself on the trash can since the EE was killed they where buds

Duck didn't survive. While processing her for the freezer, most of the wounds were superficial and survivable. Cause of death was a deep puncture in the leg, due to an eagle talon. She bled out under the skin. At least I know now that there was nothing that could have saved her and the meat won't be wasted.
