They where saying you where going to get the winds more today, it is true we sit in a micro climate most often we have pretty mild weather

Yeah, the gusts pretty much came out of nowhere. Wasn't forecasted at all. But the system moved closer to shore, early than expected. I was watching it on the radar/satellite images and was ready for it. The storm surge is supposed to hit this afternoon, coinciding with high tide. Parts of town are expecting to get some flooding.

Rained here last night ground thawed out yuk just a mud gravel mix out by the chickens have to pack everything out there normally drive the truck out back but not now would sink 8 inches into gravel and mud. It's to early for a thaw here.

26 years on the east side and I have yet to see a flea they were a big problem on the west side though. Ticks on the other hand stay out of the sagebrush in spring and summer.

So went to buy chicken feed today normally buy layena it was 15 bucks a bag they had country companion on sale for 9.95 for 50 pound bag couldn't help myself bought 10 bags. I sill have 5 bags of layena I will mix it. Anyone feed country companion? Hope it's not junk

I have fed it before and didnt have issues with my brown layers. Brahma, New Hampshire, and Buckeyes. They laid just fine and did well on it.

Most of my birds need the 20% feeds to not eat each other (EEs and Ameraucana). So I don't normally feed regular layer. Egg Producer (21%) is what my layers get.

Everyone is getting the Country Companion scratch right now, but I prefer the Payback 5 grain scratch

Thank you I feel better now I also give all the birds a good portion of fodder every day so they should be good to go. I will find out as I'm getting around 30 eggs a day if it drops I will know why.

What kind of food are you getting that is 26 or 28% protein?
