She still may not leave for a day even with chicks under her. I always put food and water within a foot of the hen. Chicks can wander out and find it, then go back

Went to Vancouver yesterday to pick up my mother came back today had 88 eggs and a broody guess she couldn’t stand looking at so many eggs.

That's exactly it! Every time I visit my family, I come home to broodies.

well took peeps up turned off the light slipped the peeps out of pockets placing them on the floor at Grime they crawled in under her like ahhhhhhh moma ahhhhhhh and happy quiet she never tritched

I named the ravens Heckle and Jeckle. Heckle is brave and will come down to grab food as soon as I'm about 30 feet away. Jeckle is a scaredy cat and won't come down if I'm visible.

They do a good job chasing off the hawks

Peeps are alive and under Dirt on Grime so grime is not true broody
at this point Richard went to turn the light on for them and Dirt was pulling them back in

Well they aren't talking magpies, but I was always confused as a kid since our magpies were pretty black and white birds, not solid black.
