Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Picked up 3 buff bantam cochins at the feed store to be friends with my single silkie chick. Took them out to where the ameraucana has the silkie. She got upset at me because there were screaming distressed babies and I needed to give them to her to take care of now!

I just need to check occasionally today to make sure they get the concept of going back under her. Got to love proven broodies that you know how they react.

Wow I have two giant cochins still with the silkie but there is like seven unknown I hatched.
My barnyard peeps this stage pretty tough to decide grow them up awhile ..
Newer neighbor will take 4 or 5 she has a coop started told her hardware cloth, peeps can crawl thought chicken wire so can predators ..

Thank you! :)

Well I do have confirmation that Broly is carrying lavender with this chick. I really wish I knew where it came from. Too many generations in before the recessive gene showed itself.

On the plus side they grow up to be beautiful birds even if not to standard.

I finally have a little extra time to better introduce myself! We live near Mattawa. We have 2 Buff Orpington Roo's, 1 sweet...1 a little mean...lol! 3 Buff Orpington hens. 3 Welsummer hens, 3 Rhode Island Red hens, 1 Salmon Faverolle hen, 2 Midnight Majesty Marans hens, 1 FBCM hen, 2 FBCM roosters, 1 Sapphire Olive Egger hen-super sweet and a surprise...she came in with the FBCM, but I knew she was different from the beginning, 2 EE's...sweet girls. 3 White Silkies, 2 Roos & a hen...they were given to me from a friend! Somehow I need to get a picture of them all together!

Our 20 something year old Coop and enclosed pen! To the left is the new fenced in free range pen...we have neighbor dogs that pack and like to decimate chicken populations!
