Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Supposed to be a hatchery bantam cochin. 8.5 weeks old. Guess on sex? I've been assuming male for a few weeks, but it's looking more girly now.

Hi all! I have some d’Uccles Millefleur for rehoming. I have four pullets hatched on Mother’s Day and three cockerels. Two were hatched with the pullets (all by my sweet broody hen) and a cockerel hatched in February. Picture 1 Pullets
Picture 2 Older Cockerel — he is very pretty.
Picture 3 Pullets
Picture 4 Two younger cockerels. One just crowed yesterday.
All three cockerels are together and are doing fine. Pullets are not laying yet. All are offspring of my Roo and Hens from My Pet Chicken, so hatchery birds.

I am near St. Helens. PM for prices, please.

Hey Washingtonians!

I was wondering if anyone had hens stop laying and start molting really heckin early? Two of my 3 golden comet pullets laid like...an egg and then just stopped. Seeing lots of small feathers in the run. Seems like summer just started, what are they doing? I just did the quarterly dust so I don’t think it’s mites. They’re hmmmm. Maybe 22-24 weeks or so?

That's a bit early in life for a full molt. They may be doing a light one.

Heat will stop laying. Many of us are running into that right now. My girls are also trying to finish molting because summer is almost over. I'm prepping everything for the rains that should be back in a few weeks.
