We have 6 roosters...we will be sending 3 or 4 to freezer camp. 2 will be easy, the others will be much harder!Just heard from a chicken friend here I get 2 more cockerel back that will be 4 for freezer camp

Let me know how well the plucker works. I would like to get a plucking machine & raise meat birds next year! It's just not in the budget at this time! The 4 are the same age but recently bought myself a plucker that goes on a drill and 2 kill cones from Amazon

Thank you Penny! The one I bought had two cones one large one medium and the plucker have not had a chance to use them yet but did not need knives

Yes we do! Just dropped in to say a quick hello to everybody. Everything’s going great here. I have 16 chickens now. They’re all laying eggs like crazy. I’m ready for the weather to cool down. I love spring and fall. I am trying to decide whether to do supplemental light through the winter. Can’t decide, keep switching back-and-forth as to whether I’m going to do it or not. I keep my chickens for four years and then I give them away to people who make them into soup. But at least they get for good years on this planet. So what do you guys think, should I do the supplemental light or would that be too hard on them?Y’all east siders have it rough in every season!
