Sometimes I really miss baling wire! Sometimes...We own safety wire pliers since we're both ex-Navy aviation and hubby still works in aviation. Those twist wire up nice and evenly as well as fast.
Actually we have quite a few of his older, almost worn out, tools laying around. Mom wanted to steal the cannon plug pliers because the jaws are soft and good for removing things you don't want damaged at all.
Zip ties work so well for everything though. And so easy.
I save the baling twine off the straw as well. It gets reused here. Back when baling wire was used, we always had some around. If not we could go grab some out of the old baler that grandma used for hay.
