That year we had the freezing mist that left a coat of ice over an inch thick on everything sucked. That's 2 inches around fencing and nets. It destroyed my run and I had to build a new one. The weight on the net just eas insane. Couldn't remove it until thaw

Oh gosh had a tree like big cedar fall, fell towards the lake just touching the water.
The ice was really bad killed many trees. I was fortunate the one I lost did not real damage.

I found out about nets and snow years ago. I go out and shake it occasionally when it snows.

I take a broom with me and whack it to get the build up off. We have a lot of support in the center of our nets though.

I hear that! We have had our share of snow weighing down the netting! Luckily our actual coop and enclosure are safe from it, but the free range area is all netted over. And it's a huge area. Big deal when snow decides to weigh it down!!! We need to remove all the netting and start over, but we are trying to get through another winter first. Pain in the petuty!!

Who knew snow doesn't fall through a net! Did a bit of
damage to our setup

I did that with the last coop/run, and when the snow gets so heavy and deep and I cant get it, I had to lock the flock in the coop. But at least now, we made a covered overhang off the coop so they had a place in winter.
