A question for those who sell eggs to regular customers .... feed prices have gone up a lot this winter, egg prices in the stores way up. I'm thinking about raising my price for a dozen. But I have regular customers and do a subscription service spring to fall.

Anyone have experience with how to tactfully raise prices without upsetting existing customers? I would love advice, I've been worried about it. I have one original customer who is waaaay under current price, and I just don't know how to change it. It's not a close friend, but is a neighbor.

Good morning my prices might not be as high. Recently went to 4.00 a dozen here.
Between buying egg cartons and food for them all went up.

Maybe explain that feed has gone way up and you've been eating the increase but can't put a raise in price off any longer.

Not sure how to exactly word it at moment. I ate too many carbs for lunch and head is fuzzy from the blood sugar spike.

I'm getting 4-5 out of 14. Which is pretty good. Two hens are very elderly. All the others are between 2 and 8 years old

Hey same ages as mine. I have like 4 or 5 elderly like 9 years.
Decided I don't like the idea of culling them.

Mine get whatever 20% protein food is cheapest. So Purina, Nutena, and the Coastal in house brand.

17% is mine. close to every a week they get something corn or meal worms.

I was worried about raising the prices of eggs, a couple years ago, but when I did she didn't even blink. I only have one customer. All she cared about was keeping the eggs coming.

I'm no help. I don't sell my eggs at all. When I have extras in the spring and summer, I give them away.

I figure they cost me $15/dozen and no one is going to pay that.
