Let me know when the BBQ isWe get deer and elk here. There's a raccoon that lives out in the woods. It doesn't come anywhere near the buildings. I see footprints sometimes. It's the damn beavers I really want to eat. They keep cutting down my trees that I want to keep.
Bill I had that same mixture and I think those are my favorite ones. This year I bought a pack of what looked like them and they just started producing and yep they’re the same kind! Last night we cut some in half lengthwise and grilled them and boy were they yummy!Picked my first zucchini. Not sure of the variety becaused it was in a mixed variety seed packet. Pulled up a turnip, but looks like some kind of bug or worm was chewing on it. Probably has a worm or two tunneling into it. And got egg #4 this morning. It was on the run floor, not in the nest box. And tiny. Only weighed 17 grams.

And my chickens now have access to grit and oyster shells. Put together some dispenser boxes yesterday.

Thanks! And yes, I'm pretty sure the packet was Ed Hume seeds. The Clarinette Lebanese zucchini was the only one that thrived, right from the start. None of the others grew well. I should probably go to the store and buy a packet of those if they still have any. I'm sure they'd still be good for next year's garden.Bill I had that same mixture and I think those are my favorite ones. My cockerel alarm clock woke me up at 5:30, so I was out in the garden checking things out. And I do have one of those zucchinis to pick today. I like them sliced, seasoned with salt and pepper, coated with flour and fried.
