Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

My neighbor across the road got a picture of a mountain lion in his yard last night. Lots of logging going on to the west that might be driving them over here.
We have had sightings here over the years, not in our yard, but in the area. Right now we have a ton of bunnies, so I suspect there are no predators around at all.

Today went out to the coop/ run and OMG we are over run with FLIES!!!!:rant yuck!!! I have never seen it so bad. the strange thing is I just cleaned the coops and the run yesterday and sprayed all the coops down with water and lavender. I saw on pintrest that you can spray pinesol and will keep the flies away so went out and sprayed the tarp over my chicken run really good. Then I sprayed the outsides of the coops. When I came back an hour later there was almost no fly's. and I have one of the best smelling chicken run I have ever smelt. LOL :wee

That's good information! If we ever have that problem I will try it.

I just bought 2 dozen jars at Walmart online, special deal $9.99. Might be worth checking out if you need more jars.

This is what a $4 bag of 90 onion sets produced for me. Not bad! I left a few in the garden that were still growing. My 6 foot long rabbit cage makes a good drying platform. The largest onion is over 4 inches in diameter.

Bok choi is sprouting, carrot seeds underneath boards are not, yet. I let two red Russian kale plants go to seed. Should have plenty for a couple years. Rattlesnake beans are over 10 feet tall now.
