Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I'll be blanching and freezing a bunch of rattlesnake beans today. I picked around 5 pounds from the vines. There are still a few out there that I couldn't reach that'll require use of my stepladder. I also picked a nice zucchini.

Got the beans frozen and bagged. Two gallons so far.

I watched two of my hens fighting like they thought they were fighting cocks, jumping up in the air and pulling feathers off of each other. There was no blood, so it's all good. They'll sort things out eventually.

Silkie hens pull hair. Always go for the crest

I wonder what that was all about. I've not had hens fighting before. So sorry.

Great looking beans.

The girl that was getting the worst of it is kind of aggressive when it comes to food. I threw weeds in the run, and that's when it happened. Maybe her opponent just had enough of it and fought back. LOL

Regarding the beans, Thanks! I'm thinking they'll be good in stir fry, used instead of snow peas. Plus all sorts of other dishes.

I'm going to re-can all the Oregon grape jelly/syrup I made and do it right this time. I got a dozen cheap Mainstays brand 8oz jelly jars at Walmart to use, and a pound of paraffin that I'll pour over the top of the jelly, just like Mom and Grandma did. I need to find out how long they need to sit in a water bath. Might do it tomorrow.
