Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I do not like the snakes east side on the mountain.
We have just pain old gardener snakes here.
Also not crossing a mountain range to go Seattle.
I’m used to snakes. I had to get used to them when we bought this place 30 years ago. :) I use snake away and similar products to keep them out of the coop.
One of the things we looked into was being able to fly to Seattle when the pass (or passes) are closed.
We live an hour from Houston. Almost everything we do requires a minimum of a 45 minute drive, so driving to Seattle is something we aren’t concerned about. I don’t mean that to sound rude! We have dreamed about this for so long!!! We are trying to be realistic about what we can afford, and where we will probably need to live.

Yes, I think the storm is just arriving here, but I still see some blue sky. Hoping on no outages!!! On my last canning session and would like it to finish without a hitch. Not sure I can move the canner to another socket, maybe just use an extension cord or something if that happens, but still I'll be on generator power. Not sure how that would work.

All said and done, we got 26 pints and a dinner out of my 40 lbs of tomatoes. Not too bad. My recipe says 1 lb of tomato will make 1 quart. Where in the world did they get that idea?

Welcome @Rose_adamaj. Hope you will like Washington. Seattle is too much city for me. Grew up in So Cal, so I was ready for the country life in my retirement years. ☺️

Oh I missed something. You're not actually moving to Seattle then? Great. Then you'll love Washington. 😁

I want to say Hi! Step daughter & family live in Seattle. My husband & I currently live in TX. My grandsons are 16 & 13. Now that my husband is retired we are going to move to Washington! We are looking in the Moses Lake area.
I will be bringing my ladies, 5 RIR & one? I am getting a pair of bantam partridge Wyandotte show birds next month! So excited! It looks like WA has a lot more poultry shows than TX does, another bonus.
We aren’t ruling out other places in WA. We would like to be moved by this time next year.

Welcome!
